What to give your girlfriend on her birthday or Valentine’s day

August 6th, 2010

Finding gifts for your girlfriend can be extremely challenging, whether it’s her birthday or Valentine’s day. But there’s always a short cut to everything. Unless she’s a different woman from all other women, a piece of beautiful jewelry is always the top choice. But keep in mind, it can’t just be any piece of jewelry. It doesn’t have to break your bank. The best way to do it is to find out her birthstone. You don’t need to ask her for her birthstone, just remember her birth date. The good news is birthstones are always cheaper than diamonds.

Try a necklace with a birthstone pendent. Or a pair of earrings with her birthstone. Don’t try rings, you don’t want to giver her wrong signals when she opens the box, unless you’re ready. Have the jewelry wrapped in a nice box and you’re set for another nice Valentine’s day.

Age: 28, Engagement ring

Age: 23, I want true love from bottom of his heart

Age: 39, At this age, something more practical, but a bit fun. Honestly, a gift card to a favorite store would be great. At Bed, Bath & Beyond, for example, I could get something I really needed, yet was “boring” (i.e. new cheese grater or shower curtain), but then I could also use it to buy candles, aromatherapy or other “girly” stuff.

Age: 48, A romantic dinner – homecooked is fine. It’s spending the time together that matters.

Age: 21, i want to rose!!!

Age: 22, rose and real love

Age: 48, One rose with love from my husband (married)

Age: 26, I want to see true love for me in his eyes, and a promise that this love will never vanish

Age: 22, A nice romantic dinner. Go back home and cuddle together on the couch and watch a movie. Then get down and busy (but he does all the work IM the one being pampered)

Age: 19, I am simple i don’t need flowers or chocolate; all I want are cinnamon hearts.

Mothers have spoken, what they really want for Mother’s day gifts

August 28th, 2009

10 mothers were interviewed on what they want for Mother’s day from their children:

Age 45, For them to clean the house, and maybe some flowers?

Age 26, Something homemade that shows they care.

Age 43, kiss

Age ?, a phone call

Age 35, a chocolate cake who makes my children

Age 31, for my kids to clean the house!

48 years old. I would like my children to make me dinner and, most importantly, clean up the kitchen afterward!

Age 44, I would love, just for the one day, for my children to do everything expected of them without whining, without complaining, without wanting money for doing something. That is what I REALLY want. As that will never happen I would like to spend the Mothers Day weekend at a spa.

Age 49. I’d like something homemade – a card, a banner, or even a thoughtful e-mail. I want my children to save their money because something from their heart would mean more to me than something they could buy.

Age 63. Love and respect are all the presents that I want or need!

What women want for their valentines day gifts?

August 28th, 2009

We interviewed 17 women in all age groups about what they would like to have for valentines day. Below is the response:

Age: 33.  SWEET KISS

Age: 33. A nicely decorated home office separating from the guest room

Age: 18. I’d want this necklace from Tiffany’s which is silver has a heart lock charm on it.

Age: 39. A romantic weekend away

Age: 20. A ring

Age: 25. What I really want my husband to get me for Valentine’s day is spending quality time with me, flowers and a nice back massage.

Age: 34. I would like my husband to prepare a hot bubble bath for me with candles and soft music in the bathroom and then take the kids out somewhere for an hour or two!

Age: 43. I really do not want anything for Valentines Day. I do not need to have a holiday in order to let my boyfriend know how I feel about him, nor how he feels about me. Just having him around and spending time together is important. I would rather have flowers, candy, etc on a regular day “just because”.

Age: ? I want to go to a nice romantic Italian Restaurant in Chicago with good red wine, violin music, the works.

Age: 18. Never really been the one for big gifts or jewerly even. I like ones that look little kidish at times, and then others, just a few flowers would be fine. Though if my significant other wants to be persistant, I usually wear necklaces. So a silver chain one would be fine.

Age: 47. Just the acknowledgment of Valentine’s Day. Any expression of affection would be appreciated.

Age: 31. I would really love a nice piece of jewellery – preferably a diamond necklace.

Age: 53. A rose bush, not the roses!

Age: 32. chocolate roses

Age: 32. I would love a nice home-cooked dinner, a Broadway show, then a walk around Central Park.

Age: 32. A romantic evening without the kids at a Sushi restaurant and then go to see a late movie without him falling asleep :)

Age: 54. a box of chocolates! My husband never gets me that as he doesn’t like chocolates!
